Known as the Ambassador’s Palace (Palazzo degli Ambasciatori) in the early 1900s as it was built to provide hospitality to diplomats from nearby embassies, the Ambasciatori Palace in Rome is a historic building on one of the world’s most famous streets, Via Veneto. Between 1993 and 2001 the building underwent in depth restoration work with a view to modernising the facilities while maintaining the style and ambience of the 1900’s architecture. The stuccoworks on the ceilings, arches, column capitals and cornices, the columns of Brasilian granite, the marble flooring, the multicoloured mosaics and the intricate balusters of the majestic staircase have all been restored to their former glory.
